Just a quick post to share with you a birthday cake I recently made for a friend’s son’s 2nd birthday. A prize goes to the person who can guess the theme…
TOY STORY. You were right! How on earth did you guess that?!
The cake is a vanilla sponge, filled with cream and jam, covered in vanilla buttercream and decorated with the Toy Story theme in mind. The figurines are shop bought – I’m not that good (… just yet).
I kept it quite fondant free – the cake is covered in buttercream only, with just the writing and clouds made from fondant. I decided to try and incorporate the braid from Woody’s hat, which is where the brown rope idea came from – looks quite effective, no?
Think it was quite a hit with Aaron and his friends, at least that’s what Buzz told me..
